After we gave Power Struggle the big run down on last Sundays show, we are back here on the website covering todays event in Singapore. Heres all the news and notes from Wrestling World 2016. In the main event, Katsuyoui Shibata (carrying his newly won Revolution Pro British Heavyweight Championship) took on the man who defeated him for the NEVER Openweight title just 10 days ago, Los Ingobernables de Japon member, EVIL. The match was a step up from their Power Struggle battle, with more of the hard hitting action. The difference here was Shibata looks to be recovering from his recent injuries and is more free flowing in the ring, for every cheating move from EVIL, Shibata would counter with a hard strike. The finish saw Shibata counter the STO from EVIL with one of his own, before locking in the sleeper, hitting a suplex, locking in the choke one more time before kicking EVILs eye makeup off with a PK. Shibata is now a 3 time NEVER Openweight champion, and I do not envy whoever tries to take *his* belt away again. Kazuchika Okada and YOSHI-HASHI of CHAOS took on Bullet club members Yujiro Takahashi and Kenny Omega in the semi main of the show. Okada and Omega have been facing off in tags since Power Struggle, and were 1-1 coming into this, the big difference been Omega getting a clean pinfall over Okada in their first match. This match started with the crowd RED HOT for Omega, as he and Okada were the obvious stars here. This match put a big focus on the two men who will headline the Tokyo dome in 2 months, with YOSHI-HASHI (terrible hair) and Yujiro Takahashi played their roles to perfection, with Y-H (t.h) fighting like a man on the verge of becoming something big in NJPW, while Takahashi was his usual seedy self, holding his own against the heavyweights. The beginning of the end came when Omega looked to repeat his feat of 10 days ago, hitting the V-trigger and going for the one winged Angel, Okada broke out this time and with the help of YOSHI-HASHI took out Omega, leaving Takahashi alone with the IWGP Heavyweight Champ. Okada eventually hit the rainmaker for the win. The rest of the show Hiroshi Tanahashi, Togi Makabe & KUSHIDA defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, SANADA and BUSHI) when Tanahashi pinned BUSHI after the High Fly Flow. Hirooki Goto defeated Tomoaki Honma with the GTR Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa) defeated Tomohiro Ishii and Gedo in a quite good match. G.O.D seem to be finally hitting their stride, 6 months after originally winning the titles… RPG Vice (Baretta and Rocky Romero) defeated Jushin Thunder Liger and Ryusuke Taguchi Juice Robinson defeated David Finlay Next up for NJPW is the World Tag League, there will be a preview going up tomorrow before the shows start on Friday. Come back for regular updates on that, and listen to the Royal Grumble this Sunday for a rundown from RevPro/NJPW Global wars!
